The teaching of Ephesians chapter 2 verse 3 is what the heart wants. The heart wants what it wants and all of us have to make a choice of how we live. And that choice will derive from what you believe about the state of your own heart.

Men and women are made in the Image of God. That is what gives us value and dignity and worth.
But we have to accept that sin is in our nature. We are born in the likeness of Adam and therefor sinners by nature and by practice and we live in a dark world.

The greatest need of the church today is a fresh outpouring of faith and hope and love. God is love and has no need of hope. To Him all things are certain, whether past, present, or to come.

Mankind feel that they are upright and as long as you feel in your heart that you are upright you will not come to Jesus.

Love is to be the distinguishing mark of a follower of Jesus Christ. And it is not an option but a command form God. God is love.
Therefore, to love is a calling and as the world becomes more harsher and more divided, our calling will become more distinct.

“If I speak in tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing”

There is a realm where all truth is known. It is not in this world for here we know in part.
God knows the truth and Jesus came to bear witness of the truth.

“For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world – to bear witness of the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice”

John 18:37 ESV

God is light. So, when Jesus says that He have come into the world as light, He is telling us that He is God with us.
Jesus does not say that since He came the world is filled with light. He is telling us that He is the light of the world and He gives light to everyone. The light shines from Jesus Himself.

There is a Person knocking on the door of your life and He knows you. He may seem like a stranger to you, but if you invite Him in you will find that He knows everything about you, and He knows who has stolen from you, and He knows the full extent of what has been taken.

When the Word of God finds its way into our hearts, it brings transformation, and restoration, and change. It brings power to overcome in this world, and it brings hope, and joy, and a future.

“ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly”

If we ask the question why Jesus came into the world the entire New Testament answers that question. But Jesus spoke on seven occasions directly and personally on why He came. We previously looked at four occasions in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. This time we will look at the marvellous words of Jesus in the gospel of John giving us the balance of the occasions on why He came into the world.
