If there were a time when the world needed the gospel and for people to open the Bible for themselves and with others, it is now! When the Word of God finds its way into the hearts of people, it brings transformation, restoration, hope, and true life change.
“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:12-14
Face the fact that you have not yet lived as you want to
“Not that I have already obtained this …. Brothers I do not consider that I have made it my own.”
The reason that the coming of “Christ the Lord” into the world is good news of great joy for all people is that He was born as our Saviour!
“And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for i bring good news of great joy that will be for all the people. for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord” – Luke 2:10,11 ESV)
This is what Christmas is all about: Jesus came into the world to bring grace for you, He came so that change would be possible for you, He came so that the joy of a new life could be yours.
If Jesus came to bring peace to the earth, the last 2000 have been a spectacular failure.
But Jesus is very clear: Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth.
If you thought that the birth of Jesus would lead to a world of peace in the centuries that followed, that would be a great misunderstanding. That is what Jesus is saying.
And here’s why: God has promised that One day, there will be peace on the earth.
If you thought that the message of the Bible is that we are all sinners and were once under the condemnation of God’s Law but Jesus has come, and He paid the price of our sins, so now we can get on with our lives much as we did before, though we must always remember to thank Him for what He has done, that would be a complete misunderstanding.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Wednesday 01 December 2021 Sermon by Lodewyk Avenant
We truly live in perilous dangerous times, in the last days and in these times, we truly need to have the right perspective. When I am speaking on a perspective, I am referring to having the right Biblical and Godly perspective on first of all on the Bible and salvation but also on life.
Sunday 21 November 2021 Sermon by Ps. Jacques Wolmarans
The Bible places a lot of emphasis on the topic of obedience and this is very important, but in isolation and without understanding, obedience can easily be used by us as a tool to try and manipulate God and others
You are trying to figure out who God is, or who you are, or what the meaning or purpose of life is? How will faith be formed and sustained in you? The Bible presents us with a Person that we can come to know and relate to.
